Background and Objectives

Before looking for an independent view of the SAP indirect access risk with VOQUZ Labs a consultancy provided insight into SAP licensing, but did not use an efficient, automated toolset for mid- and long-term optimization. For RS Components it was important to understand the options in terms of SAP License exchanges, the volumes and cost drivers. It was furthermore crucial to evaluate the impacts of changes to the business model and the financial implication of changes to the application landscape with future application demand. Before running the project with VOQUZ Labs RS Components was not yet aware of the full potential of their SAP Licensing options. It was a requirement to gain a neutral perspective on the SAP indirect access risk and to be more accurately informed as to the risk implications and mitigation factors that were available to them as an organization.

The Implementation

RS Components thoroughly evaluated all relevant SAP tool providers and consultancies - eventually finding VOQUZ Labs to be the best partner to enable an existing continuation of SAP specialized licensing advisory to continue to ensure the best outcome for RS Components with respect to the SAP indirect access license requirements. samQ was identified to be the best tool to provide an automated, clear and accurate view of the SAP License measures that makeup SAP Indirect access. The highly improved view of their SAP Licensing enabled RS Components to take necessary optimization actions leading to being on a stronger footing when negotiating with SAP. With VOQUZ Labs’ tools and advisory, RS Components can now keep pace with the changing SAP Licensing conditions including contract models and is now able to maximize their SAP investment.
